how to use scripts?

i have a question how do i use scripts on notepad like how does it work?
do i have to be logged into cp and what do i have to do to notepad to make the script work?
please i really need help here can somebody reply? :*(

Once you have the script in notepad save as > script name.pl and have it under all files.
